The best Google index checker tools in 2026

Start with Search Console: it is free, and it is Google's own data. Add a tool when you have too many pages to check one by one.

Here are six tools, ranked by who each one fits. Search Console is enough for a small site. CrawlCoach fits sites with 500 to 50,000 pages that need to know which missing pages to fix first. Indexing Insight fits sites with 100,000 URLs or more. For URLs you don't own, like backlinks, use a pay-per-check tool such as IndexCheckr.

We make CrawlCoach, so weigh our ranking with that in mind. Every price and limit below comes from each product's own site.

One fact shapes this list. Only the owner of a site can see Google's verdict for its pages, in Search Console or through its URL Inspection API. Google allows 2,000 inspections per site per day. A tool that checks URLs you don't own can't read that verdict, so it can tell you whether a page shows up, but not why.

  1. 1. Google Search Console: Best free option, and the source for the rest

URL Inspection shows whether one page is on Google, why not, and which canonical Google chose. The Page indexing report groups missing pages by reason, with up to 1,000 example URLs for each. Request indexing and Validate fix exist only here.

Its limits show on bigger sites. You check one URL at a time, the examples stop at 1,000 per reason, and nothing says which page to fix first.

  2. 2. CrawlCoach: Best for 500 to 50,000 pages, when you need fixes and not just a status

You sign in with Google, and CrawlCoach reads Google's verdict for the pages in your sitemaps: up to 500 pages in a free report, then up to 50,000 URLs per site on paid plans. Each day it inspects up to about 1,800 URLs per site, inside Google's limit: new and missing pages first, then the rest in turn. It emails you when a page drops off Google. Missing pages are listed under Search Console's reason, with no 1,000-example cap, and each reason is explained in plain words.

The fix list comes by email and in the app. It puts first the pages you starred and the pages that just left Google, then the fixes with the most searches at stake.

Starter is $29 a month for 1 site and 2,000 pages. Pro is $59 for 3 sites and 25,000 pages per site. Agency is $149 for 15 sites and 50,000 pages per site, with reports for each client.

Where it falls short: it works only on sites you own in Search Console, and Google's daily limit means the first full pass of a 25,000-page site takes about two weeks. For 100,000 URLs or more, Indexing Insight inspects far more each day.

  3. 3. Indexing Insight: Best for very large sites

Indexing Insight is built for scale. Its Automate plan is $75 a month for 100,000 URLs, 20,000 inspections a day, and 4 websites. Scale is $150 for 500,000 URLs and adds BigQuery. Every plan has daily email alerts, sitemap monitoring, and segments, and starts with a 7-day trial that needs a card.

Pick it when your site has more pages than CrawlCoach covers. Its plan list covers monitoring, alerts, and reports. It does not list drafted fixes.

  4. 4. SEO Gets: Best when you also want Search Console analytics

SEO Gets is a fast dashboard for Search Console and GA4. A core site is $49 a month, and each extra one is $4. The Super Site add-on, $4 a month per site, adds index status for up to 5,000 sitemap URLs, checked every 2 to 3 days, plus 5 years of data and content change tracking.

Pick it when analytics is the main job and index status is a side check.

  5. 5. Screaming Frog SEO Spider: Best for a one-time audit you run yourself

Screaming Frog is a crawler that runs on your computer. The free version crawls up to 500 URLs. A licence is $279 a year per user and adds the Search Console integration, which pulls Google's index status for up to 2,000 URLs per site a day during a crawl.

Pick it for deep technical audits. You start each crawl yourself and read the results in tables.

  6. 6. IndexCheckr: Best for URLs you don't own, like backlinks

IndexCheckr checks whether any URL is indexed, with no Search Console access. You pay per check, from $15 for 2,000 checks, with no subscription, and it can watch URLs over time.

Without Search Console access, no tool can read Google's reason for a missing page. Use it for links on other sites, and Google's own data for yours.

What about tools that promise instant indexing?

Some tools say they get any page indexed fast. Google's Indexing API supports only job posting and livestream pages, and Request indexing in Search Console has no API. For all other pages, Google finds them through your sitemap and links from your pages that are already on Google, then decides whether to index them.

Questions

How do I check if my whole site is indexed by Google?

Open the Page indexing report in Search Console. It counts indexed and missing pages and groups the missing ones by reason. To see the verdict for each URL in your sitemap, not only examples, use a tool built on the URL Inspection API, such as CrawlCoach, Indexing Insight, or Screaming Frog with a licence.

Is there a free bulk Google index checker?

Search Console is free, but it checks one URL at a time. CrawlCoach's free report checks up to 500 pages from your sitemap with Google's own data, once. The free Screaming Frog crawls 500 URLs, but its Search Console integration needs a licence.

How many URLs can I inspect a day?

Google allows 2,000 URL Inspection API calls per site per day, and 600 a minute. Every tool built on the API works inside that limit for each Search Console property.

Why is a page not indexed, and how do I fix it?

Search Console gives a reason for each missing page, such as Crawled - currently not indexed or Duplicate without user-selected canonical. Each reason has a different fix. Our reason guides explain each one.
