Why isn't my Replit app showing on Google?

A Healthy SEO rating in Replit doesn't mean Google indexed your app. Check what Google gets, serve it from one public address, then use SEO Agent.

Replit's SEO rating is not your Google status

After each publish, Replit runs a Lighthouse audit on your live pages and shows a rating: Healthy, Needs Work, or Weak. It checks your page code, such as titles, descriptions, and alt text. It doesn't ask Google anything. A Healthy app can still be missing from Google.

For Google's answer, add the app's address to Search Console and inspect your home page with URL Inspection.

Check that the app is live and public

  • Open the address in a private browser window. If you see "This app isn't live yet", publish it. That page returned 404 when we tested it.
  • Use a public web deployment: Autoscale, Reserved VM, or Static. Replit rates only those, because they are the ones search engines can crawl. Scheduled and private deployments get no rating.

Look at the HTML your app sends

Apps that Agent builds run on a server, but the server may still send a near-empty page that JavaScript fills in later. Replit's docs don't say which kind Agent builds, and the published apps we checked in October 2026 had both kinds. Check yours.

Shows what your server sends before any JavaScript runs
curl -s https://your-app.replit.app/

If the HTML has your headings and text, you're set. If it has only an empty root element, Google has to run your JavaScript to see anything, and crawlers that don't run JavaScript see nothing.

Replit suggests Static Deployments for content sites, because they serve pre-rendered HTML. Its docs also say Static Deployments don't work with apps Agent built, since those need a backend. For an Agent app, ask Agent to render your public pages on the server.

An example prompt we wrote for Replit Agent
Render the home page, pricing page, and blog posts on the server, so their text is in the HTML before any JavaScript runs. Keep the rest of the app as it is. When you're done, show me the home page HTML from curl.

Return a real 404

Run curl -I on an address that doesn't exist, such as /no-such-page. A 200 there means Search Console may list Soft 404 pages. Your app has a server, so it can send a real 404 status for unknown addresses. Ask Agent to add it.

Use SEO Agent for the basics

SEO Agent works on published apps and needs a paid plan. It lives in the Growth pane of the Project Editor.

  1. Open the Growth pane. On the SEO Rating card, select Run scan with Agent. A scan usually takes a few minutes.
  2. Read the issues by category: AI Readiness, Crawlability & Discovery, Landing Page Rendering & Metadata, and Performance Proxies.
  3. Select Fix with Agent on one issue or a whole category, or Fix all with Agent.
  4. When a fix shows Ready for review, check it and select Apply changes to main version. Then publish again.

SEO Agent adds things like robots.txt, sitemap.xml, titles, descriptions, and structured data. Replit says it doesn't write content for you, so thin pages still need your words.

Custom domain and www

Your app keeps answering on its replit.app address after you connect a domain, and Replit's docs don't say it redirects. Set a canonical tag on every page that points at your domain, and submit only your domain's sitemap.

www isn't connected for you: linking example.com doesn't serve www.example.com. Add www as its own entry in the Domains tab, with its own DNS records. Then redirect one version to the other at your registrar, as Replit suggests.

What Search Console will show

Here is how those problems appear in Indexing > Pages.

  1. Why it happens
An app that sends the same page for every address answers 200 even where no page exists.
    The fix
Have the server return 404 for unknown addresses. Ask Agent to add it.
  2. Why it happens
The app answers on its replit.app address and on your domain, and sometimes on both www and the bare domain.
    The fix
Add a canonical tag that points at your domain on every page, and redirect the other versions to it.
  3. Why it happens
Google crawled the page and chose not to keep it, often because it says little of its own.
    The fix
Write the main pages from what your customers ask. SEO Agent fixes the code, not the words.

How CrawlCoach helps

Replit's rating looks at your code. CrawlCoach looks at Google's answer. It reads Search Console for each page in your sitemap, shows which ones Google skipped and why, and gives the fix for each reason. Paid plans recheck every day and email you when a page drops off Google.

Questions

Does a Healthy SEO rating mean my app is on Google?

No. The rating is a Lighthouse check of your page code. Only Search Console shows whether Google indexed a page.

Is Replit's SEO Agent free?

No. Replit says SEO Agent needs a paid plan. The SEO rating itself shows on any public web deployment.

Should I use a Static Deployment for SEO?

Only for a site with no backend. Replit says Static Deployments don't work with apps Agent built. For those, render the public pages on the server.
