Why isn't my Base44 app showing on Google?

Base44 handles most technical SEO for apps on a custom domain. When pages still miss Google, check the domain and a few settings in SEO & GEO first.

Is the app on your own domain?

Base44 says its SEO setup is built for apps on a custom domain. A free base44.app address can still be crawled, but Base44 says it isn't meant for long-term SEO, and its SEO & GEO scan caps your score without a custom domain. Base44 calls connecting one the single biggest improvement you can make.

Custom domains and 301 redirects need the Starter plan or above. When you move from one domain to another, add a whole-domain redirect so old links keep working. It is a 301, which Google takes as a sign that the new address is the main one.

Settings that keep pages off Google

Open Dashboard > SEO & GEO, under Marketing. Check these before anything else.

SettingWhat it does
Search visibility toggle (Meta tags tab)Every page starts on. Turning a page off adds noindex and removes the page from the sitemap and llms.txt.
Enable SEO for this appOn by default. Off, Base44 stops adding meta tags and structured data, and stops making the sitemap and llms.txt.
Robots.txt file and Sitemap (Advanced settings)Off, Base44 serves your own public/robots.txt or public/sitemap.xml, or a 404 if you have none.
Public accessGoogle can't reach a private app, or an app where every page needs a login.

When Google's title doesn't match your code

Titles and descriptions saved in the Meta tags tab win over the ones in your app's code. If Google shows a title you didn't write, look there first. An orange warning on a page means an old override is active. Click the Trash icon to clear it.

Base44 doesn't write a separate description for each page. To set one, open Meta tags, click the Edit icon next to the page, and fill in Title and Description. Base44 suggests 10 to 60 characters for a title and up to 160 for a description.

What crawlers get

Base44 apps run in the browser, so a plain request returns a short HTML file and a script. Base44 says it serves crawlers a rendered copy instead, with your content, meta tags, and structured data. If a page hasn't been rendered yet, crawlers get a short summary: the page heading, its description, and links to your other pages.

If a new page sits in Crawled - currently not indexed, check what Google got. Inspect it with URL Inspection, click Test live URL, then View tested page.

In our October 2026 test, both live Base44 apps we tried answered 200 for addresses with no page. Base44's docs don't say what crawlers get there. If Search Console lists Soft 404 pages, add a path redirect for each page you renamed (up to 50 per app), and ask the AI chat to add a noindex tag to the not-found screen.

Connect Search Console from Base44

  1. Publish the app and make it public.
  2. Open Dashboard > SEO & GEO, under Marketing.
  3. Click Connect Account on the Connect Google Search Console card at the top of the Overview tab.
  4. Approve access in the Google window. Base44 verifies the site and submits the sitemap.

Base44 is still rolling this out. If you don't see the card, verify the site in Search Console yourself and submit /sitemap.xml.

What Search Console will show

These reasons in Indexing > Pages trace back to Base44's settings.

  1. Why it happens
The page's Search visibility toggle is off, so Base44 adds noindex.
    The fix
If you want the page found, turn the toggle back on in the Meta tags tab.
  2. Why it happens
Google got a short page, or the summary Base44 serves before a page is rendered.
    The fix
Add real content to the page, link to it from your home page, and check it with Test live URL.
  3. Why it happens
Addresses with no page answered 200 in our test and showed a not-found screen.
    The fix
Redirect renamed pages with a path redirect, and add noindex to the not-found screen.

Questions

Does Base44 do SEO for me?

Most of the technical part, on a custom domain: rendered pages for crawlers, a title for each page, canonical tags, sitemap.xml, and robots.txt. It doesn't write a description for each page, or your content.

Can a base44.app address show up on Google?

It can be crawled and indexed. Base44 says free addresses aren't meant for long-term SEO, and its scan treats a custom domain as the biggest fix.

Where is my Base44 sitemap?

At /sitemap.xml on your domain, while the Sitemap setting is on. Pages with Search visibility off are left out.
