How to set up IndexNow on Shopify

Shopify stores add IndexNow with an app. Bing's IndexNow page lists the InstaIndex app for Shopify.

IndexNow on Shopify: Through a plugin or app

Set it up

  1. Install an IndexNow app from the Shopify App Store, such as InstaIndex.
  2. Follow the app's setup. The app handles the key and tells Bing about changes.
  3. Change a product. Then check the app's log to see that it was sent.

With CrawlCoach

Use the app for IndexNow. Shopify does not let you upload a text file to your site's main folder, so CrawlCoach can't do IndexNow on Shopify.

What IndexNow does, and what it does not

IndexNow tells Bing and other search engines, such as Yandex, Naver, Seznam, and Yep, that a page changed. Google does not use it. For Google, submit your sitemap in Search Console and fix the reasons Google gives for skipping pages.
